Under a person's message, a quiet line shows where that turn ran and in what environment. Open it for the details.
The line names the Mac or the cloud, the agent, the model and the folder, and the branch and commit when the folder is in a Git repository. When the message was sent from somewhere else, the line starts with where, such as "From Phone".
- Open a chat on the web or the Mac.
- Click the line under a message to open the details. Click it again to close them.
The details can list:
- Sent from and By: where the message came from and who sent it.
- Ran on: the Mac or cloud that ran the turn.
- Agent and Model: with the agent's version and the thinking level.
- Folder, Repository, Branch and Commit: the commit says "uncommitted changes" when there are any.
- Can reach: what the turn could reach, such as the browser or screen.
- Computer use: counts of what the agent did with your apps.
- Reply took: on the Mac, how long the reply took.
See each step of computer use
After a turn that used computer use, click View actions in its details.
- Steps are grouped by app and window, in order.
- Each step is one line, such as "Pressed ⌘B" or "Typed 25 characters into…".
- The list keeps up to 200 steps. Any past that are counted as "more actions not listed".
The list names what the agent used, not what was in it. Typing shows only a count of characters, or just "a password" for a password field, and text the agent typed is replaced by "…" in window titles and labels.
Where: web and Mac, the line under a person's message.
Good to know: a message with nothing to show has no line. On the Mac, a blind comparison leaves the agent and model out of the line. When a chat syncs from your Mac, your home folder is shown as ~.
