Copy a folder on your Mac to the cloud

Updated October 21, 2026

Copy a local folder to your workspace so a cloud agent can work with it without needing ongoing access to your Mac.

This creates a one-time snapshot of the folder in your workspace files. The cloud agent can then read and edit those files freely. Changes the agent makes do not affect the original folder on your Mac.

  1. In the chat composer, click the folder chip.
  2. Choose "Copy a folder on this Mac to the cloud".
  3. Pick the folder. The files upload to your workspace.
  4. Start the chat — the agent works from the uploaded copy.

Where: Mac app › composer folder chip (labelled "Add folder").

Good to know: the upload is a copy, not a live link. For a real-time link to your Mac folder, see Give an agent access to a folder on your Mac. Uploaded files appear in Library › Workspace Drive.
