Manage your account settings

Updated October 22, 2026

Settings › You is where you manage your name, appearance, notifications, privacy, and sign-in providers.

Your account settings apply across all surfaces — web, Mac, and mobile — because they are stored in your account, not your device.

What you can change:

  • Name and avatar — how you appear in shared chats and workspaces
  • Appearance — Light, Dark, or System mode; one of nine accent colors
  • Notification preferences — when the browser or Mac notifies you
  • Connected sign-in providers — the Google, GitHub, or email account you sign in with
  • Email and security — your registered email address

How to open Settings:

  1. Click your account name or avatar at the bottom of the left rail.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Settings opens at General by default.

Where: Settings › You (web and Mac)

Good to know: The accent color and appearance mode apply to both web and Mac in real time. For data and privacy options, see Control how your data is used. To change billing, see Read your usage and billing details.
