**Settings › You is where you manage your name, appearance, notifications, privacy, and sign-in providers.**

Your account settings apply across all surfaces — web, Mac, and mobile — because they are stored in your account, not your device.

**What you can change:**

- **Name and avatar** — how you appear in shared chats and workspaces
- **Appearance** — Light, Dark, or System mode; one of nine accent colors
- **Notification preferences** — when the browser or Mac notifies you
- **Connected sign-in providers** — the Google, GitHub, or email account you sign in with
- **Email and security** — your registered email address

**How to open Settings:**

1. Click your account name or avatar at the bottom of the left rail.
2. Select **Settings**.
3. Settings opens at General by default.
