Schedule a one-time task

Updated October 21, 2026

Use goal mode to schedule a task that runs once at a specific time — the agent wakes up at the right moment and gets it done.

  1. In the chat composer, type /goal.
  2. Write your objective. Include the time you want the task to run (for example: "Summarise my inbox every morning at 9am" or "Run this analysis on Friday at 3pm").
  3. Send. The agent sets the goal and pauses until the scheduled time.
  4. At the scheduled time, the agent wakes and starts the task automatically.

Where: Web and Mac › composer (type /goal to enter goal mode). Also via the API and sky CLI.

Good to know: a goal can include a recurrence ("every morning") but for complex recurring schedules, create an automation instead. See What are automations? and Set a goal for an ongoing chat.
