Hooks let you trigger an external action — like calling a webhook URL — whenever something happens in a chat, such as an agent completing a turn or using a tool.
Hooks are attached to an agent's configuration and fire automatically. Common uses: post results to a Slack channel, log tool calls to your own system, or trigger a pipeline when the agent finishes.
To set up a hook:
- Open Developer & API › API agents and choose your agent.
- In the Hooks section, add a hook: choose the trigger event and enter the target URL.
- Save.
Where: Web › Developer & API › API agents › your agent › Hooks. Also manageable via the /api/v1 API.
Trigger events include: turn completed, tool called, and goal reached. Hook payloads contain the event type and relevant context. Related: Apply rules to every agent in a workspace, What are automations?.
