Add your own MCP server

Give your agents a server of your own, name it, say what it is for, change its token and remove it.

Updated November 3, 2026

Add any MCP server at a public https address as a plugin, and choose the agents that use it.

  1. Open Plugins in the rail (web and Mac) and click Add.
  2. Paste the server's address. Give it a name and a note saying what it is for, so people and agents know when to use it.
  3. Add its token if it needs one, and choose the agent that uses it.
  4. Click Add. AgentSky calls the server first: if it refuses the token, nothing is saved and you can correct it, or choose Save anyway.

A card that says Finish setup is not usable yet: no agent uses the server, the server asked for a token, or it refused the saved one. Open the card to see which.

Change it. Open the card and click Edit to change the name or note, replace the token or put the server on another agent. Running chats take a new token without restarting. A new name changes what people see; an agent's tools keep the name the server was added under.

Remove it. Open the card and click Remove. Every agent that uses it stops and its saved token is deleted. Chats already running keep the server until they next start, though a deleted token stops working at once. To stop just one agent, switch the plugin off on that agent's page, or run sky plugins rm mcp:<id> --agent <id>.

From an agent or a script: sky plugins add --mcp-url <url> --name <name> --note <note> --token <token> --agent <id>, sky plugins update mcp:<id> and sky plugins rm mcp:<id>; POST, PATCH and DELETE on /v1/plugins; the MCP tools add_plugin, update_mcp_server and remove_plugin.
