Set up Mac permissions for computer use

Updated October 21, 2026

Computer use needs two macOS permissions: Accessibility (to click and type) and Screen Recording (to read the screen).

The easiest way is to click "Allow AgentSky" on the first launch — this sheet covers both permissions and walks you through each step.

To grant them manually:

  1. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility. Click the + button and add AgentSky.
  2. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen Recording. Add AgentSky the same way.
  3. Restart AgentSky if prompted.

Where: macOS System Settings › Privacy & Security.

Good to know: if either permission is missing, computer use will not start and an error message will tell you which permission to add. See What is computer use? for a general introduction.
