# Edit and export an artifact

**Open any artifact in the editor and make changes; export it to Word, PDF, HTML, or Markdown.**

Artifacts open in an inline editor. You can type directly, change text inline in HTML artifacts, or adjust styling with the Design controls. Changes are saved automatically.

1. Open Library › Artifacts.
2. Click an artifact to open it in the editor.
3. Edit the content directly.
4. Click Download (or the export icon) and choose your format: Word (.docx), PDF, HTML, or Markdown.

Where: Library › Artifacts (web and Mac). On Mac, artifact editors are available for Word, rich Markdown, and visual HTML pages.

Good to know: HTML artifacts autosave as you edit. The default export format for Markdown documents is editable Word. Only the owner can rename or delete an artifact.
