# Create an automation

**Set up a recurring task so an agent runs it on your schedule — no manual work required.**

1. Go to Settings › Advanced › Automations.
2. Click + New.
3. Write the task prompt — describe what the agent should do each time it runs.
4. Set a schedule: daily, weekly, or enter a custom cron expression for precise timing.
5. Choose the agent and model to use.
6. Save the automation.

Where: Web › Settings › Advanced › Automations. Mac › Settings › Advanced › Automations.

The automation runs at the scheduled time and creates a new chat. Results appear in your workspace chat list like any other chat.

Good to know: you can pause or delete an automation at any time from the same Settings › Advanced › Automations page. Automations count toward your workspace usage. Related: [What are automations?](https://agentsky.dev/help/automations-overview).
