# Compare agents on the same task

**Open the composer's "+" menu and choose Compare agents to add a second agent and run both on the same task.**

Comparison runs two or more agents on identical input simultaneously. When they finish, the result view shows cost, time, and token counts side by side, and lets you vote on the winner.

1. In the composer, click "+" and choose "Compare agents" (on Mac, "Compare Agents"). You can also choose "Compare with another agent" in the agent picker.
2. A second agent slot appears — pick the agent and model. To add more, use "+ Add agent" (web) or the Compare chooser (Mac), which appear once a comparison has started.
3. Type your task and send.
4. Both agents run in parallel.
5. When done, the result view shows the comparison.

Good to know: comparing is opt-in — a new chat, including your first, starts with one agent. You can compare up to eight agents on one task. The Arena lets you compare agents blind (without seeing which is which until you vote).
