**In a chat your workspace shares, you can see who has it open, assign it to a teammate and name a teammate with @.**

1. Open a chat your workspace can see. The faces in the chat header are the teammates who have it open right now.
2. To hand the chat to someone, open the chat's ⋯ menu, choose **Assign to…**, pick a teammate and click **Assign**. They see the chat waiting on them and get a notification. Choose **Nobody** to clear it.
3. To ask a teammate for their attention, type **@** in the message box. A list of the people in the chat opens; keep typing to filter it, use the arrow keys to move, and press Return or Tab to insert the name (Esc closes the list). When you send the message, everyone you named gets a notification.

Where: Web and Mac — the chat header, the chat's ⋯ menu and the message box of a cloud chat.

For agents: `sky session people <session>` lists the chat's people, who is here and who it is assigned to; `sky session assign <session> <user-id>` assigns it (`--clear` unassigns). MCP tools: `list_session_people`, `read_session_presence` and `assign_session`. API: `GET /v1/sessions/{id}/people`, `GET /v1/sessions/{id}/presence` and `PUT /v1/sessions/{id}/assign`.

Good to know: only people who may send the chat messages are listed, and only they can be assigned or notified. A mention matches a teammate's name or the part of their email before the @.
